Overview
The Vello NSD-35 makes it easy to digitize 35mm negative film strips and mounted slides with a digital camera and macro lens. This kit features an LED light source and extension tubes which allow consistent and bright illumination as well as accurate focus distance. Pull out your old 35mm film negatives or prepared slides from the closet, and drop them into the film holder to capture one-to-one digital copies. Process the images with your favorite photo editing software or cameras that have in-built negative digitization such as the Nikon D-850 DSLR. Once you snap a shot, you’ll have the picture just as it was and as a digital file.
Features
Quick Film Digitization Aid
Convert your old 35mm film strips and slides to digital copies using your digital camera and macro lens. The Vello NDS-35 works with most Nikon, Canon, Sony cameras, along with select macro lenses. Instead of buying a whole scanner, you can use your full-frame camera and capture a 1:1 digital reproduction that lasts forever.
LED Light
A bright and dimmable LED light source provides the illumination the camera needs to capture all the details of 35mm film. The light also acts as a stand-alone negative viewer with a kickstand so you can set it on a flat surface and scrutinize each slide. The LED light runs off any 5 W USB power supply.
Film Carriers
There are carriers to secure 35mm film strips and mounted slides, so you can move from one slide to the next without damaging the film. You’ll be able to quickly shoot and move to the next picture in one session.
Macro Lens Adapters
Six lens adapters make it easy to mount the digitizer onto your macro lens. Choose between 46, 49, 52, 55, 58, 62, and 67 mm lens adapters to match with a variety of lenses for macro shooting.
Focus Extensions
Getting film negatives in focus is the priority when shooting a digital copy. Use a combination of the included extensions to lengthen or shorten the focus distance so every image is sharp.
Power Control Cable
The power control cable offers tactile buttons to make it easy to look through your camera and adjust settings for the light’s brightness. This means you don’t have to take your eye off the camera while changing settings.
