Overview

The Kopul XLR4F-RJ45 and XLR4M-RJ45 provide a low-profile and sturdy solution to long cable runs in recording studios, concert halls, theaters, and houses of worship. The extenders allow you to send four channels of analog or digital audio and DMX signals over a lightweight and affordable RJ45 Ethernet or etherCON cable. Whether you’re sending microphone signals to a back-of-house mixing console, digital audio to a computer, or running lights from a DMX controller, Kopul’s XLR to RJ45 Network Cable Extenders will send clean and interference-free signals to sound boards, PA systems, multitrack recorders, and DMX-equipped lights. Use the extenders instead of bulky and costly XLR snakes, even over long runs of hundreds of feet. These passive network extenders require no external power to operate. When they’re connected with a Cat 5, 5e, 6, or 7 Ethernet cable, they provide four channels of balanced mic level, AES/EBU, and DMX signals, and extend the length of your cable runs without interference, signal loss, or added coloration. Gold-plated XLR connecters assure superb signal transfer and resist corrosion, and durable steel construction stands up to demanding travel and studio environments.

Features

Extends an Audio or DMX Network

If you’ve been running bulky and costly XLR snakes to control audio or lights from the back of the house, Kopul’s XLR to RJ45 Network Cable Extender is exactly the solution you’ve been looking for. Send four channels of analog or digital audio or DMX signals to recorders, mixing boards, PA systems, and DMX controllers over a single RJ45 cable, even if they’re hundreds of feet away.

Passive Design

The XLR4F-RJ45 and XLR4M-RJ45 don’t require a power source. Just attach them inline with your microphones or DMX-equipped lights, and they transmit a clean signal without interference or coloration.

Phantom Power Support

The Network Cable Extenders support 48 V phantom power for studio applications. You can operate your studio condenser microphones with phantom power from your mixing board and transmit the mic signal between rooms or studios over the RJ45 cable. Condenser microphones can receive phantom power only over shielded Cat 6 or Cat 7 Ethernet cables.

XLR Connectors

Gold-plated XLR connectors offer superb signal transfer and corrosion resistance—a plus if you’re transporting them to live shows and concerts.

RJ45 Connectors

The extenders are equipped with locking RJ45 connectors that won’t disconnect with an accidental tug or pull. For demanding live venue environments, the extenders are designed to accept etherCON connectors that provide a locking protective outer shell and strain relief.

Ethernet Cables

The beauty and economic advantage of this design is audio and DMX signals can be transmitted over and Ethernet cable. The extenders are compatible with CAT5, CAT5e, CAT6, and CAT7 cables.

Metal Construction

The XLR4F-RJ45 and XLR4M-RJ45 are made with a durable, heavy-duty steel housing that can stand up to repeated use in live venues, busy studios, and theaters. Both models have mounting ears so they can be mounted or hung on a wall, desk, or workstation.
