Overview
The Angler 48-inch BoomBox is an octagonal softbox that’s designed for monolights and flash heads with Bowens mounts. The lightweight and portable BoomBox is an indispensible accessory when you need to quickly set up a light in the field or in the studio. It opens up just like an umbrella and eliminates time-consuming softbox setup with an integrated speed ring and flex rods, so you can spend more time shooting. The BoomBox features a reflective silver interior that amplifies the light and throws a punchy, specular beam that’s ideal when your image needs contrast and sharp detail. With its two diffusers, hot spots are eliminated, and a soft wrap-around light is great for portraits and fashion. Its classic octagonal shape directs light and prevents spill while it provides a natural looking catchlight that will make your subject’s eyes sparkle. Aluminum construction provides rigidity to the box so it keeps its shape, even in demanding outdoor conditions. The BoomBox also features a removable reflector plate that transforms the box into a beauty dish-style light and helps eliminate hot spots. Optional rings are available for compatibility with Broncolor, Elinchrom, and Profoto lights.

The 48-inch BoomBox is outfitted with a Bowens mount that offers compatibility with a large variety of monolights and studio flashes.
Lightweight and Portable
The BoomBox is as easy to open as an umbrella. Great for the studio and the field, the BoomBox folds up just as quickly as it sets up, and it comes with a convenient carry bag that you can take anywhere. It opens in seconds and maintains its rigidity while you attach it to a light stand or a monopod.
Support Rods
Don’t waste valuable minutes threading flex rods into your softbox. The integrated support rods are attached to the umbrella mechanism, so the BoomBox stays rigid when you open it and keeps its shape as long as it’s open.
Deflector Plate
The removable deflector plate gives the BoomBox’s light a beauty-dish quality. It creates a sensuous wraparound light that’s perfect for portraits and fashion photography. Since it sits directly in front of the flash, it also eliminates the center hot spot
Silver Interior
The reflective silver interior throws off a broad, punchy, and contrasting light that wraps around your subject and offers sharper detail than diffused light.
Included Diffusers
When a softer and less specular light is needed, inner and outer diffusers are included with the BoomBox. They are fast and easy to attach, and they let you control the amount of diffusion you need for your exposure.
Aluminum Construction
The integrated speed ring and support rods are all made with aluminum for durability that can stand up to demanding conditions and travel.
