Overview
The Auray WSS-RVMGII Windbuster is a dual-layer fur windscreen that’s custom-tailored to fit the Rode VideoMic GO II shotgun microphone. It’s effective at reducing wind noise with minimum high-frequency loss or muffled sound. This custom Windbuster is ideal for ENG and vlogs, as well as any outdoor or field video applications where there’s disruptive wind noise. The Windbuster is best used in light to moderate breezes, and it can reduce wind noise up to 40 dB with only minimal high-frequency loss. The Windbuster’s simulated rabbit fur cover and an open-cell foam matrix interior lower wind velocity around the microphone for significant noise reduction without muffling the sound. It’s designed to give you access to your microphone’s USB and audio ports while the dual-layer protection also shields your microphone from dust, debris, and moisture.
Features
For the Rode VideoMic GO II
The Auray WSS-RVMGII Windbuster lets you take your Rode VideoMic GO II outdoors so you can shoot ENG, vlog, or any outdoors activity without the constant rumble from light-to-moderate breezes of 4 to 17 mph breezes and wind. The Rode miniature shotgun mic can minimize off-axis noise, but when you have to deal with wind noise, there’s nothing like a Windbuster to deliver quiet, pro-sounding audio.
Dual-Layer Wind Protection
The simulated rabbit fur cover and open-cell foam matrix interior work together to reduce wind noise by up to 40 dB. The dual-layer wind protection allows you to capture audio with minimal high-frequency loss and without muffling the sound.
Protection from the Elements
In a perfect world, your shoots would take place in ideal weather conditions. The Windbuster’s dual layer of protection adds extra shielding against moisture and dust, even when you have to record sound for video in nasty weather.
Tapered Rubber Gasket
For extra protection against wind noise, the tapered rubber gasket slips on over the microphone and seals out moving air that can compromise your audio.
Full Access
The WSS-RVMGII gives you full access to both USB and audio ports on the microphone. You can change or add connections to your camera, portable recorder, or smartphone without removing the Windbuster.
