Overview
The Auray WSW-VMNTG Windbuster is a dual-layer fur windscreen made specifically for Rode’s VideoMic NTG Microphone. It’s custom tailored to fit over the VideoMic NTG foam windscreen and will fit snugly into the VideoMic NTG’s shockmount. The WSW-VMNTG substantially reduces disruptive wind noise. Best for recording in light breezes (4 to 17 mph), you’ll capture sound with 30 to 40 dB reduction in wind noise with only minimal high-frequency loss. The windbuster employs a simulated fur outer cover and an acoustic cloth inner lining that effectively lowers wind velocity around the microphone for significant noise reduction without muffling the sound. It’s designed to give you full access to all of your microphone’s controls while the dual-layer protection also shields your microphone from dust, moisture, and UV damage.
Features
Fits the Rode VideoMic NTG Microphone
Don’t let wind noise obscure what you’re saying. This windbuster is custom tailored to fit the Rode VideoMic NTG shotgun microphone with its foam windscreen, and it’s perfect for reducing wind noise for mobile journalism, run-and-gun filmmakers, or vlogging.
Dual-Layer Wind Protection
The simulated fur outer cover and acoustic cloth inner lining work together reduce wind noise by up to 30 to 40 dB. And the Windbuster will only minimally affect high frequencies, and it won’t muffle the sound.
Significant Wind Noise Reduction
A light breeze of 4 to 17 mph may not feel like a lot of wind, but it’s enough to make your microphone pick up a lot of noise. The Windbuster reduces wind noise by 30 to 40 dB, so your subject’s voice won’t be obscured.
Protection from the Elements
In a perfect world, your shoots would take place in ideal weather conditions. But in case you have to record sound for video in nasty weather, the Windbuster’s dual layer of protection adds extra shielding against moisture and dust.
Full Access to Controls
The Windbuster is designed to give you full access to the VideoMic NTG’s controls for full functionality of your microphone.
