Overview
The Auray FR-5P-R Five-Panel Filter isolates your microphone and minimizes audio reflections and ambient noise for clean, dry, and professional-sounding vocals, voice-overs, and narrations. Each panel is independently adjustable so you can configure the filter as a tight 300-degree ring around the microphone for vocals and speech, or as an isolation wall for miking speaker cabinets. The panels feature 3-layer acoustic isolation that includes high-density acoustic foam, acoustic fabric, and a perforated shield. Once the sound passes through the shield, it’s prevented from reflecting back into the microphone to prevent unwanted “room” sound. The fold-down top panels shield the microphone against noise that originates above the mic from air conditioning ducts and fluorescent lights. The filter is compatible with most microphone stands, and it has integrated feet for stand-alone desktop recording. The panels are made with lightweight plastic and fold up to a tight ring for convenient storage and travel.

Five-Panel Flexible Design
Five adjustable panels, each with a fold-down top panel allow you to conform the filter to your acoustic needs. Spread the panels to form a filter wall for miking speaker cabinets, or up to a 300° enclosure and narrow collection range for dry and clean vocals.
Three-Layer Acoustic Isolation
Whether you’re recording vocals, voice-overs, or narration in rooms without acoustic treatment, the goal is audio with minimum room ambiance or rumble that can compromise recordings. The RF-5P-R filter features three-layer isolation that includes a high-density acoustic foam, a layer of acoustic fabric, and a perforated screen for excellent microphone isolation.
Fold-Down Top Panels
Ambient sound can come from all directions. And if you’re in an office with overhead air ducts and fluorescent light fixtures, there is constant noise from overhead. This filter is designed with flip-down top panels that help minimize noise from above the microphone for audio with less rumble and ambient noise.
Acoustic Foam
High-density acoustic foam absorbs acoustic reflections and minimizes room ambience to isolate your microphone for dry, clear, and professional sounding vocals and voice-overs.
Perforated Screen
The perforated shield diffuses sound as it passes through the shield, and it prevents sound reflections from bouncing off surfaces and back to the microphone.
Mic Stand and Desktop Isolation
Whatever your recording environment, your audio will benefit from microphone isolation. Built-in feet let you stand the filter on a desktop for recording podcasts at home or in the office. The 5/8-16 threaded mic stand and shockmount adapter are perfect for recording vocals and voice-overs in the studio.
Adjustable Microphone Bracket
Whether you’re using a large-diaphragm studio condenser or a handheld dynamic mic, the sliding bracket lets you position your microphone inside the filter for the ideal isolation.
