Overview

The Polsen MP60 Microphone Preamp is a compact, single-channel mic pre that can add up to 60 dB of clean gain to dynamic and condenser microphones. You’ll find a wide variety of uses for it because it’s a great solution for studio recording, broadcasting, or podcasting. Balanced XLR and unbalanced 3.5 mm inputs and outputs let you connect condenser and dynamic studio mics, shotgun mics, and even the audio output of a camera or smartphone. Adjustable gain control lets you output the signal strength you need for your mixer, digital recorder, or DAW. The MP60 boasts pro features like a 120 Hz high-pass filter to reduce low-end rumble and a phase switch for two-microphone setups. Plugging your audio source into the MP60 ensures your sound will be full and robust without added noise or coloration.

Features

For Studio, Broadcast, and Podcast

The MP60 is ready to tackle just about any job you throw at it whether you’re recording in the studio, broadcasting, or podcasting. It features options that are also found in high-end mic preamps, like balanced XLR inputs and outputs, 48V phantom power, and phase and high pass filter switches.

Adjustable Gain

The gain knob lets you adjust the output signal’s strength up to +60 dB. You’ll see exactly how strong your signal is, and you’ll avoid clipping thanks to the 8-level signal level and clip indicator.

High-Pass Filter

The high-pass filter decreases frequencies below 120 Hz by 3 dB. It comes in handy when you’re recording in a room with a lot of ambient noise. It also minimizes low-end rumble from air conditioning ducts, fans, and overhead lights.

Phase Switch

Two-microphone setups, like drum overheads or stereo guitar mics, can lead to phasing problems and thin-sounding audio due to missing frequencies. The phase switch reverses the polarity of the microphone signal to maintain a full sound.

Balanced XLR Input and Output

Whether it’s RF interference from local radio signals or EM interference from power cables or other pieces of gear, the balanced XLR connections eliminate outside noise and interference, even with long microphone cable runs.

Phantom Power

The MP60 offers 48 V phantom power for compatibility with condenser microphones.

Unbalanced 3.5 mm Input and Output

The MP60 is compatible with any device with 1/8-inch (3.5 mm) audio connectors. Use it to connect devices like headsets and lavalier microphones.

Rugged Metal Construction

The MP60 is designed for repeated use in demanding environments in the studio or on location. The metal construction lets you pack the MP60 with the rest of your gear and take it with you wherever you record.
